Mermaid Toes: A Client’s Perspective on Becoming Safely Embodied

IP-Integrated Practices for Healing Trauma Groups

In 2008, I had the opportunity to train with Deirdre Fay, LCSW when she came to Chicago to present her group model for working with individuals who had a history of trauma, Becoming Safely Embodied. Since then, I have had the honor of walking on the journey with many folks as they reclaimed a sense of peace both in their bodies and their daily life through the Becoming Safely Embodied model. "Subversive Toes, Mermaid Green" is a story from an early group member in which she shares her experience of the power of practicing boundaries.
