Pronouns: she/her/hers
Valeria Lazo (she/her) is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and IFS-informed therapist. She specializes in treating complex trauma and dissociation. Valeria provides affirming, trauma-informed therapy for individuals navigating the intersections of trauma, identity, belonging, and migration, with experience working with immigrants and migrant communities, the LGBTQ+ community, and survivors of systemic and interpersonal violence.
Her approach is deeply relational and collaborative grounded in the belief that therapy happens in partnership. She works alongside clients to understand how past experiences and the nervous system shape the present, integrating parts work (Internal Family Systems), narrative and relational approaches, somatic awareness, and psychoeducation.
Her clinical foundation includes an MSW from Boston College’s Latinx Leadership Initiative Bilingual Program, advanced trauma training through the Chicago Center for Integration and Healing (ACT I & II), IFS Level 1 training, Narrative Therapy training, and years of community-based clinical work. Valeria approaches therapy with curiosity and compassion, supporting clients in deepening self-understanding, reconnecting with their inner wisdom, and moving toward greater alignment in their lives.
