We are happy to announce that Emily Robinson has joined CCIH as a Staff Therapist!
Emily (she/her) is experienced in working with survivors of abuse and neglect, systemic oppression, chronic stress, and unmet needs. With a deep understanding of how prolonged exposure to traumatic events can impact the mind and body, she provides an attuned, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment for healing.
With Emily’s arrival, we have additional capacity for new clients seeking trauma informed treatment. Call our intake line at 773-754-7441 ext 2000 or request a call from us here.
Below is a brief interview with Emily.
What initially got you interested in therapy?
Humans are so interesting! It was early on that I became fascinated with human behavior and understanding why we do the things we do. The therapeutic relationship offers a uniquely safe, supportive, non-judgmental space to explore our feelings, needs, and experiences. I believe connection is one of the greatest forms of healing and find it a true privilege to witness vulnerability, wisdom, insight, and growth in the therapy space.
Why CCIH?
CCIH’s values, mission, commitment to cutting edge complex trauma treatment for clients and professional development for therapists is remarkable. I feel so fortunate to learn from experts in the field to best support clients on their healing journey.
What is your passion?
I am deeply passionate about social justice, equity and inclusivity. I am committed to an ongoing practice of feminism, anti-racism, celebration of queer identities, anti-ableism, anti-fatphobia and allyship. I actively denounce systems in place that promote oppression and seek to promote a more connected, accessible, safer world for all intersectional identities.
What do you like to do when you are not in session?
I relish in the “hygge” principle of warmth, comfort and coziness! I enjoy reading, connecting with friends, learning a new language, catching up on the latest quality (and trash) television shows, biking, and snuggling with my sweet dog.
