Pronouns: she/her/hers
Jillion (she/her) views the process of therapy as sacred and considers it an honor to share space with those choosing to be vulnerable in the name of healing wounds that act as a barrier to living a fulfilling life in the present. Collaboration and the incorporation of knowledge from both the client and therapist are significant to the therapeutic relationship and Jillion emphasizes clients accessing their unique strengths as vital to their healing process.
Specializing in complex trauma and dissociation, Jillion brings empathy and compassion to sessions, guiding clients through the intricacies of human experience. Her expertise extends to addressing academic and work stress, depression, anxiety, insecure attachment, low self-esteem, loneliness and relational challenges, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, identity-related struggles, grief, and acculturation.
Acknowledging how systemic oppression shapes lives across generations, Jillion practices through a decolonized, anti-oppressive lens. She actively challenges ableism, racism, sexism, capitalism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and anti-fatness. She firmly believes that emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual challenges are best understood in the context of one’s environment, social setting, and intersecting identities. In therapy with Jillion, clients are invited to engage in “radical” actions that cultivate joy, kindness, self-preservation and care, community, self-acceptance, and self-love.
Jillion is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned her Master’s degree from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has practiced in both community-based and higher-education settings, working with diverse age groups and backgrounds. Her clinical approach has been enriched through training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and the CCIH’s Advanced Clinical Training program. She continues to incorporate somatic strategies, parts work, mindfulness, emotional resourcing, and neurobiological psychoeducation into her therapeutic approach to treating complex trauma and dissociation.
