The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute has shared a new article by Dr. Pat Ogden: The different impact of trauma and relational stress on physiology, posture, and movement: Implications for treatment, recently published in the European Journal of Trauma and Dissociation. It is available to read for free from now until January 5th.
Many of us at CCIH have trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Dr. Ogden’s work informs much of our practice. This article in particular highlights the importance of using body-centered approaches with clients and practicing with an anti-oppression lens, both of which are foundational concepts the way we work. We hope others in our professional community will find this resource valuable.
