Trauma Informed Treatment: What We Have Learned
May 3 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm$150
Friday, May 3, 2019
9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
In the past two decades there has been an explosion of research on the effects of traumatic experiences on the brain and body. This research has given us insight into how human beings have developed in relation to one another and to our environment. What we have learned has implications for all clinical practice, not just with clients who specifically identify as having a history of trauma. In this workshop we will explore how this information has highlighted the things that are essential for effective treatment. We will begin with a brief overview of important neurobiological research and concepts and then engage in a discussion of practical strategies for incorporating this information into our work with clients.
